where you been?

well, though it may seem as if i have dropped off of the face of the earth (or at least the face of the net), rumours of my death are highly exaggerated.

still no word on the promotion. the old inventory supervisor is now officially done, and the earliest i might even get interviewed is monday. so, there's a whole bunch of anxiety and stress right there.

probably the only thing keeping me sane, and the thing taking up the most of my time, is the fact that i am currently seeing someone. in keeping with the traditional strangeness and bizarre hyper-acceleration of most of my relationships, i already practically live here. this time around, however, there are far more good signs than bad. all in all, it's one of the most normal relationships i've had (normal being an extremely relative term, mind you).

so now some details that i'm sure everyone is waiting breathlessly to read (cough).

her name is amanda; she works part time at borders and full time as a manager of a local coffeehouse/ liquor store; she's a huge fan of takashi miike films and haruki murakami books; both her dvd and cd collections attempt to rival mine in terms of size, coolness, strangeness and obscurity.

and our relationship was recently cemented by a mutual love of peanut butter crunch cereal. like i said, an extremely relative term.

in any event, if anyone would like to meet her (and see me), we will be in la crosse next weekend for oktoberfest. the plan is to get into town late afternoon/ early evening on saturday, and leave sunday afternoon. it's not a whole lot of time, but it's all i can manage. so if you'd like to go out festing, let me know, and we can iron out details.

with everything going on, i haven't had much spare time to update libram x, but hope to get up a review two some time tomorrow.

for now, it's off to watch some more korean soap operas, and then hopefully continue to get amanda get caught up on heroes before the season premier on monday...
