I have a choice that needs to be made yesterday
really wanted to move today
but is a rather sudden thing and would cut out the second place
the first place is with an ex of a friend
they've remained friends, so it'd be likely i'd do more hanging out than current
it's on the third floor, $300 + utilities and is about 7.5 miles from work and ~8 miles from the Neos
the area looks nice enough, pretty chill, but the roads to work might be kind of crazy
the second place is with a stranger
it is in a house rather than an apartment building
on the first floor, $433 + utilities and is about the same distance to work, but is only ~4 miles to the Neos
The girl seems pretty cool and would probably be nice to hang out with
both places have dogs and both smoke occasionally. the first only has one dog and i think i like it better.
the second place has more space, but to me that says higher heating bill in the winter.
the second is a little closer to train transport, but as long as the roads are kept remotely clean I should be alright. the first has a bus stop about a block away.
say i lived there a year, the first place would cost $1596 less, not to mention lower cost to heat/cool. Both rooms were quite nice and rather large and had hard wood floors, not the fake ass shit in this place.
both places would have me rolling past all kinds of restaurants and grocery stores on my way to/from work, so I'm not worried about that so much. the first would bring me past a bike shop everyday, which could be dangerous, but fucking awesome at the same time.
so there's that. I can move into the first right now if I really wanted, and the more I think about it, the better it sounds.
In other news, for those of you not in my quiet loop, Shannon and I broke things off May 1st, will possibly write on this later, but now is not the time. Finished packing all her stuff in boxes at 3 this morning, couldn't sleep. Shipping all that is going to cost so damn much. holy shit. i want to say there are six boxes, the smallest is about a foot cubed and filled with books. So ridiculous.
woke with a head ache that still hasn't gone away. Isn't as severe, but still hanging around. Maybe a hot shower and this tea will help.
Bought Saul Williams' "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!" today. need to get his other albums.
