Started
Moved into the dorm today! They didn't give us much time to get settled, It was check in at 9:00, unpacking time, which Dad and I used to go around and buy last minute items and pick up the stuff we shipped, then at four it was time to meet people and 'get oriented'. I managed to unpack between dinner and a study session for a Quantitative Reasoning assesment that we have to take tomorrow afternoon. Fortunately it's easy material, review stuff. Now that I'm moved in it feels better.
I admit, I did get teary eyed flying over the cascades, the mountains here are all old geezers who've lost their teeth. Isn't that a fun metaphor? Whoo am I ever jet-lagged! I caught myself getting a mild high out of thinking about writing with pens, specifically about the way the ink flows so nicely on to the paper to make the words...
Jinx honored me with a super-cuddle the night before I left. He's a good kitty that way, poor baby, I started crying all over his fur, sitting on the couch with Mom and the cat will do that to a person.
My room mate is really nice. That's happy. She's also about 6ft tall, good since she plays basketball, it's a funny contrast when we walk together though.
