Pop War III: Syria vs Cyrus

Round one: Miley!

(blurred for reason)                                                                       (hew?)

The world may be on the brink of World War III (an optimist's hyperbole) but let's talk about how popular Miley Cyrus got off of her VMA performance. On August 25th after Miley’s VMA performance her Google peak rating went from 67 to 100 in less than 24 hours. Meanwhile, during the same period of time the US military moved cruise missiles into position to strike Syria.  France, Great Britain and the USA are now aligning against China, Syria, Russia and Iran (Russia has sent two warships to the Mediterranean), while Syrian President Bashar Assad said his civil war-ravaged country "will defend itself against any aggression" in the face of rising expectations of a punitive military strike by Western powers. President Obama meets with congressional leaders today (Thursday, August 29th) and a strike may be imminent.
All of of this is dependent on whether chemical weapons were used, yet, on August 25th the peak search value for chemical attacks in Syria actually fell to a value of 3, which is down from a value of 4 only 24 hours earlier. The term “Syria” is valued at 56- averaging flat over the past few days. Yet, the opposition, Miley Cyrus, has sustained her peek rating. Cyrus' attention may begin to wain as the conflict in the middle east rise, but, with Americans so easily distracted, Cyrus may very well know that a simple twerk session against a national monument could put the attention right back on her as the world falls faster into all out war.

Google Analytics Miley Cyrus VS Chemical Attack Syria:

Miley Cyrus: 100

Syria: 3/56
