Chapter 9:
Nino sulked as he was ‘held captive’ in Sho’s room. Sho had tended to his cuts, called the rest of the group to his room for a meeting, and was now busy mother hen-ing over him.
“I’m fine,” said Nino for the umpteenth time, doing his best to not raise his voice at the group’s keyboardist as he fussed over his injury and then over his skinny-ness, and god knows what he’ll fuss over next if a series of impatient knocks didn’t come their way.
Sho went over to open the door, and in came the rest of the band. Nino couldn’t bear to look at their faces, who knew what they were going to do to him? After all, it was bad for their image if anybody found out there was some guy out to kill their song writer. Nino’s instincts told him he was going to get kicked off the tour, and then he’ll have to return to his pathetic life of teaching idiots how to play the guitar and having instant noodles for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“Nino,” began Ohno slowly, walking up to the bed he was seated on and sitting down beside him, “is it true you are a private investigator?”
Nino’s eyes widen in shock. Jun told them? He always knew Jun was going to tell them sooner or later, but after those few days in Tokyo, Jun hadn’t mentioned a thing, and Nino thought he was safe, until now…
“I was a private investigator, was,” answered Nino meekly, refusing to look Ohno in the eye. His stomach started churning, knowing that this was the end.
“But now you are a song writer, aren’t you?” Ohno asked again, taking Nino’s hand in his.
No matter how hard he tried to resist, Nino could not help but lift his head and looked straight at Ohno. He nodded.
“Then my decision is final,” said Ohno, grinning at Nino, “Besides,” he added, addressing Jun, “Nino can’t want to gather info about us, like you said, Jun, because I was the one who hired him, and secondly, none of us are married, so even if Nino is a PI who flirts with disloyal husbands like you said, there’s nothing he can do to us,”
Jun grinded his teeth, “Why can’t you see the bigger picture?” he growled, “but if there really is someone after him, it’ll put all of our lives in danger! Besides, that killer can easily know where Nino is by following our schedule!”
“Oh, so Jun-kun is worried about Nino’s safety!” grinned Aiba, patting Jun on the back, purposely ignoring the scowl on Jun’s face.
Then, Sho piped in, “Jun, have you seen the killer?”
Jun’s eyebrows furrowed as he tried to recall the last two incidents, “No,” he said at last, “but I did catch a glimpse of the truck, which tried to run Nino over, as it drove away,”
Now it’s Sho’s turn to furrow his eyebrows, “It is strange, isn’t it?” he said, more to himself than to the rest of the group, “just now, the killer disappeared the moment Nino ran into you. And in Tokyo, the truck drove away the moment you appeared. Don’t you find it strange?”
Leave it to the Keio boy to notice something like that.
“That means Nino is actually safe with us,” added Aiba cheerfully, “or actually safe with Jun, to be more exact,”
“So, it’s final,” said Ohno, “Nino stays,”
Aiba let out a loud ‘yay’, while the other two could only nod at their leader’s decision. Nino smiled, thanking his lucky stars for helping him remain on the tour. He didn’t want to admit it, but he felt like a part of the band, even though he was only their song writer. With the group, he felt as if he belonged there. Knowing that he could stay made Nino feel that it was the best moment of his life…that was until Ohno made another announcement...
“Oh, and Nino will be sharing a room with Jun,”
“WHAT?!” yelped the both of the in unison as those words left Ohno’s mouth.
“You heard me. We concluded that Nino’s only safe with you, so you two will be sharing a room,” said Ohno, giving the others an ‘I-won’t-take-no-for-an-answer’ look.
“Come one Jun, don’t act as if you don’t want to share a room with Nino,” Aiba chirped in, ducking behind Sho.
Jun could only run a hand through his hair and sighed, “Fine! But if Aiba plants another camera in my room…”
“I won’t!” Aiba cut in. But Jun knew that face Aiba had on too well.
“It’s late,” yawned Ohno while stretching, “we better get some sleep, tomorrow’s concert is going to be crazy as usual,”
Biding each other goodnight, everybody, except Sho, left the room and headed back to their respective rooms. Luckily, that killer didn’t pop up like Nino thought he would. Maybe because he was with Jun. Nino followed Jun down the corridor with a pout on his face, it was going to be a long torturous tour.
They arrived at Jun’s room, Room 3105, not long later, and Nino followed him in. The room was pretty nice, it was a president suite after all. AMOS was a renowned band, and of course they had the best. There was a bar, a fridge stocked with loads of food, the toilet was huge…etc. But this president suite had one problem.
Only one king sized bed… and no sofa.
Jun seemed to have noticed the same thing as he let out a frustrated growl. It was late at night, and none of them wanted to waste any precious sleeping time fighting over who gets to sleep on the bed, while the other sleep in…well, the bathtub would be the second most comfortable place to sleep in.
“Just keep to your side of the bed,” yawned Jun, slipping under the covers on the right side of the bed.
Nino nodded, blushing at the thought of sharing a bed with Jun. But his pride was soon overtaken by sleepiness, and before he knew it, he dumped his bag near the wall and slid under the covers.
No matter how hard he tried, Nino found it impossible for him to fall asleep. Firstly because a certain someone was there beside him, and secondly, because the room was freezing. Anybody would have thought a polar bear lived there, the coldness of the room was beyond normal.
Nino thought he saw his breath condensing in front of him as he pulled the blanket closer around him.
Only to have the blankets be tugged away from him, leaving him in his t-shirt and pants in this cold, Antartica-ish room.
“It’s freezing, you idiot,” frowned Nino, yanking the blankets away from Jun.
“I’m freezing too, you idiot,” Jun retorted, heaving the blanket to his side of the bed.
“At least give me my fair share of the blanket,”
“It’s my room, so the blanket is mine!”
“No, the blanket belongs to the hotel~”
“I don’t care,”
“So, you don’t care even if I freeze to death?”
“Exactly, have fun freezing,”
“You’re such a bastard,”
“And you’re being a brat,”

When Sho entered Room 3015, he didn’t know if he should flee or feel glad that he didn’t bring Aiba along as he went to call Jun.
He bassist was no where to be found during breakfast, and they were supposed to meet at the lobby to go check out their concert venue, but the group’s youngest member didn’t show up.
Sho now knew why.
On the bed, in a heap of blankets was Jun, who was entangled with Nino. The both of them were still sleeping in each other’s arms, obviously enjoying whatever they had been doing. Sho was just glad there aren’t any stray clothes lying at the foot of the bed.
He had a job to do, and he better do it quick. Aiba said if he weren’t down at the lobby in fifteen minutes with Jun, he’ll personally come up. And this is something Sho doesn’t want Aiba to see.
“Jun, wake up,” yelled Sho in Jun’s ear as he shook the bassist.
He saw Jun’s eyes open and stared at him, before groaning and turning away while mumbling ‘five more minutes’. But we all know who’s right beside Jun. As he turned, Jun found himself splattered all over Nino.
Shrieking, Jun pushed himself off the bed, (well, actually Nino, but Jun wants me to type ‘bed’ instead of ‘Nino’,) and collided into Sho.
“Had fun last night?” asked Sho, chuckling at Jun’s perplexed look. But the younger member didn’t find it funny. Fuming, Jun stormed off the get changed, leaving Sho to laugh at the confused look Nino had on.
“What’s going on? Who screamed? And what are you doing here?” asked Nino, rubbing his eyes.
“For starters, Jun’s late for practice. It was Jun who screamed, and I’m here to wake Jun up. Leader said you should come with us,”
Nino shook his head and plonked back onto the bed, fast asleep once again.
Jun emerged from the toilet a while later and was about to go when he noticed Nino still asleep, “Shouldn’t Nino come with us?”
Luckily, Sho isn’t Aiba, and he knew how to use his brains. So, instead of saying ‘I knew you wanted him to come’, Sho said, “He doesn’t want to. But the only people with a key to this room, is you, leader and the hotel, so Nino should be fine. I’ll leave a note to tell him to stay in the room at all times,”
With that, the pair walked out of the room, and headed for the lobby.
When Sho and Jun reached the lobby, Jun had the shock of his life. Standing by the counter, talking to Ohno was a tall and lean man with dark golden hair, a figure which looked too familiar to Jun.
“Jin?”
