Chapter 1: Facing reality
‘Aiba Masaki! What the hell did you do to him?’ was the first thing Nino said to his brown-haired friend the next morning.
‘Eh?’ was the reply, as the latter’s face showed a surprised expression.
Nino pulled out the Jun-doll from his bag and dumped it on Aiba’s desk. Maybe ‘doll’ isn’t the right word to call it. After all, it could move on it’s own.
“It’s so cute!” said Aiba, picking up the ‘doll’ and stroked its head, “how does it operate? Can I take it apart?”
Nino snatched it back and placed it on another table, away from Aiba , “It isn’t you behind it?”
“I couldn’t create such an elaborate doll,” reasoned Aiba as he tried to steal the ‘doll’ from Nino.
Nino and Aiba’s argument had attracted majority of the class’ attention. By the time they were done, there was a swarm of girls around the Jun-doll, squealing at its adorableness.
“This could get ugly,” said Aiba as he watched the doll being manhandled.
“We should make a run for it,” replied Nino, not wanting to share his mini Jun.
Grabbing the Jun-doll, Aiba and Nino dashed out of their class, ignoring the shouts of protests.

Nino was about to congratulate himself for predicting his friends reaction, when he realized there was an important situation at hand.
Ohno Satoshi and Sakurai Sho, two of their seniors, stared at the doll, mouths hanging open in shock.
“Isn’t that Jun?” asked Sho breaking the silence, “But the real one is in France,”
Nino nodded as he cradled mini-Jun in his arms, “it’s like a smaller version of Jun, except it doesn’t talk,”
“Can I name it Jun-pon?” asked Aiba, jumping up and down in excitement. The rest of them just stared at him.
Aiba assumed their silence meant consent, and proceed to take the doll, now dubbed ‘Jun-pon’ from Nino, “Hello, Jun-pon! I’m Aiba Masaki!”
Jun-pon didn’t reply. Instead, he bit Aiba’s hand, which caused the brown-haired boy to yelp in surprise, giving Jun-pon the opportunity to run back to Nino.
“It’s okay, Aiba-chan,” reassured Sho, holding back his laughter, “it’s only natural for the mini Jun to like Nino too,”
“He’s so cute,” said Ohno, poking Jun-pon’s cheeks.
“No fair!” yelled Aiba, “Why does leader to get to poke Jun-pon and I don’t?”
Thus, a fight between Ohno and Aiba broke out. Aiba insisted he should get to hold Jun-pon as well, but Ohno reasoned that Jun-pon would make a good model for his paintings, since the original one wouldn’t pose for him.
Sho and Nino sweat dropped as they watched the scene unfold.
“Nino, I think you better bring him home,”
