Considering everything I heard about this movie, what I can say is..., "good luck, Jin".
I like Mr. Children's music and Shunji Iwai's films must be trustable, I want to see the beautiful scenery in the old days, though I was not into the Band Boom at that time.
Now I want to watch his film PICNIC again, it was a depressing dark movie though!

In 28 it was found that Jin AKANISHI in KAT-TUN(24) is going to have his first movie 'BANDAGE', will release in 2010, as a main actor.
Its director is the music producer Takeshi KOBAYASHI(49) known as that of 'Mr.Children' and the script writer is the movie creator Shunji IWAI known as his work 'Love letter', well-known staff are listed, and Akanishi promised his hardwork before the filming starts in November 3rd.

With the produce by the combination of the geniuses Iwai and Kobayashi, who had breathed the new air in the world of Japanese movie with the movie of the fusion of music and motion picture 'Swallowtail'(1996), Akanishi is going to become a main actor in his first movie for the first time.
This 'BANDAGE' is set in 1990's, the period of the Band Boom.
This is the adolescent music movie which shows the light and darkness of the youth in the rock band 'LANDS', such as their dream, friendship, collapse, and the growth.
Akanishi is going to act the leader and the leading vocalist of that band Natsu TAKASUGI.
This has been planned to be a movie from since Mr. Iwai read the novel by Chika KAN 5 years ago.
He wrote its script by himself and in 2006 he ordered its music and direction in 2006.
Then, by the coincidence those 2 was thinking about the same actor Akanishi as a main actor.
The director Kobayashi is expecting his hardworking "from my sense, I thought Jin Akanishi would be good for the main role. Considering the difference from me, the distance at the music field and the difference of the experience".
Akanishi has experienced the dub in the Hollywood movie, but this is what he has been wished, his first movie as a main actor.
"I am really glad to be able to have my first main role in the movie in the work by the wonderful people. I am looking forward to acting as an artist different from what I can do in KAT-TUN. This will become a Japanese movie totally different from former ones", he was so full of spirit.
He is actively working such as proposing the plan at act.
By the way the director Kobayashi had directed the documentary movie '"es" Mr. Children in FILM', but this is his first direction of the movie with a story.

作品の「ＢＡＮＤＡＧＥ バンデイジ」は、バンドブームに沸く９０年代が舞台。ロックバンド「ＬＡＮＤＳ（ランズ）」で活動する若者たちの夢、友情、崩壊、成長などの光と影を描く青春音楽映画だ。赤西はバンドのリーダーでリードボーカル・高杉ナツを演じる。
今作は、５年前に岩井氏が菅智香氏の小説を読み映画化の構想を温めていた作品。自らシナリオを執筆し、０６年に音楽と監督を小林氏に依頼していた。その際、２人が主演に思い描いたのは偶然にも赤西だった。小林監督は「感覚的に、主演は赤西仁がいいと思った。僕との音楽的な距離や経験の違いなども含めて」と熱演を期待する。
ハリウッド映画で声の吹き替えの経験はあるが、念願の映画初主演となる赤西。「素晴らしい方々の作品で映画初主演できることをうれしく思います。ＫＡＴ-ＴＵＮではできない形のアーティストとして演じることを楽しみにしています。今までにない日本映画になる」と大張り切り。自ら演技プランを出すなど意欲的に取り組んでいる。
また小林監督は９５年に「『ｅｓ』 Ｍｒ．Ｃｈｉｌｄｒｅｎ ｉｎ ＦＩＬＭ」でドキュメンタリー映画の監督を務めたが、ストーリーのある映画の監督は初となる。
