Just got home from cali, we need to have out of state shows more often!!!

If you didn't already hear, my band deadball 38 played our first out of state show last night. I left school early at 10:15am to head out, I ate then left around 11:30am. It was about a 4 hour drive to get there, or atleast it was supposed to be. We got caught up in traffic and got lost a few times because we were all seperated with our 3 cars. I slept for about an hour on the way there while chris drove. We finally show up at the venue and walk around a little to see what it's all like, Santa Fe cafe was also partially a train station... weird but cool. After wasting some more time we finally load in and get our equipment set up. They give us a 25 minute set which was short but fine.

Our set goes well, the crowd seems to like us quite a bit so that's a good sign! After we play we sorta get our equipment packed and sit while watching the other bands. Then something catches my eye, I see some people smoking out of various hookahs. Hmm, I guess that's all legal and stuff here so I join in with some of my band members in their circle. That was fun :)

After stalking roxy finished people started to leave but me and chris hung around talking to some people that liked our music. I met some cool people last night. We finally leave to crash at this dudes place at about 2am. We arrive at the house and almost instantly start drinking. We hung out and watched tv and such then I passed out half on this small couch and half on the table next to it.

I wake up in a lot of pain but I feel somewhat rested so it's all good, I wait for everyone else to wake up then we leave for breakfast. Dennys was awesome, hot waitresses and good food, mmmm...

The car ride back was going good, we were making awesome time til we saw a shit load of cars just sitting stopped on the freeway. We stop and sit for a minute or two and realize this traffic is going NOWHERE. I stick my head out the window and see probably hundreds of cars ahead. We put it in park and shut the car off. I get out and walk up on this hill to see what's ahead, I just see a HUGE line of cars sitting, not moving at all. We chill for 10 minutes more and I look back up from the hill and see the cars in the distance start to move, I walk back to the car and let him know we're starting to move so we started the car again and start going in a minute. We're driving about 2 miles at around 10mph in bumper to bumper traffic. I'm having fun and sitting on the door half in the car while we drive. The 2 miles takes FOREVER but we finally see squad cars with their lights on up ahead, then we see the flipped SUV. Daaaaamn there is no way anyone survived that accident, atleast no way the driver did. The entire roof collpsed since it was upside down. Ouch. After we passed that mess it was smooth cruising again. We arrive in vegas and chris drops me off. And well... here I am, not dead yet!
