Livin' on a Prayer
So yeah, another actual post as opposed to my crazy non-posts. First, let's hit it up with a wonderful class breakdown:
1. Human Sexuality - It's one of those classes that a lot of people like just cause it gives them a somewhat easier class but also challenges people to think about their own experiences and just how we can interact with other people in an non-judgemental way. Like it's very informative to just be able to talk to other kids who are going through similar experiences but to see how they did things differently and how that's affected the people they they became. The reading isn't the most exciting thing in the world but it's something that can keep the class structured but not be too restrictive.
2. Modern Religious Thought Part 2 - The first part last semester was really good and I really like the Prof. a lot. I feel kind of bad because he's had some health issues that have prevented him from being able to be with us at all of the class periods. We've missed a few and so when you only meet twice a week that can make it kind of rough when you miss a few. The authors are pretty epic: some of the best thinkers of the 20th Century and certainly people you should have a grasp on if you want to know about the landscape of religious thought at the time. And to be honest, it's a breath of fresh air to get a chance to have things presented in a different way then when I used to get theology in high school. These are some the classes that deal with the lit that probably most influences the thought of what was going on with Vatican II and stuff so that's pretty helpful. I feel now I'm almost at the point to where I know what I believe again and can really be honest with that.
3. Intro to Child Development - Yeah, yet another psych class that I need for my minor. This one is interesting that it talks about little kids developing into young adults so as our prof. said, it might help us have a little better sense of how to raise kids. Not a whole lot but I should take what I can get right now right? We watched a birth in class and that was pretty interesting, something you don't see everyday.
4. Intro to Cognitive Psych - Another psych class this ones about the mind. It's pretty heavy stuff and the book in this clas is brutal. The prof isn't bad all the time but there's some times that I just wish it was a little different. Test in that class is coming up soon.
