Happy Days!

For anyone that knows me, knows that I love technology and I love new toys!  Well last night was a double bonus for me.

1st.  I get a letter in my mailbox from verizon telling me that FIOS is coming next month to me!  For anyone that does not know what FIOS is, let me elaborate a little.  FIOS is fibre optic cable run to your home.  So, now you may be asking so what, what does that mean.  Well basically it means INSANELY fast internet and a dedicated pipe to your house.  And when I say insanely fast I mean 15mb down, and 5 mb up!  Try to do that with comcast and come talk to me with your shared pipe choking on all your neighbors traffic!  So, needless to say, I been watching this for about three years now, and it's finally coming, and I will be first in line!  They will also do cable tv, phone over the same wire.  So, you know what else it means finally?  COMPETITION for comcast !!  I can't stand cable monopolies and finally there will be a real competitor that doesnt require me to put a stupid dish on my house!  Oh, and one other thing, FIOS works with existing HD TIvo's so, if your like me and got HD Tivos with cable card, no worries, its all gonna be fine !!  *stoked*

2nd I have been going to a lot of meetings lately at work, and i typically drag my fat wired mouse with me, because these meetings tend to carry on forever, and normally you can work during them.  Well frankly, it's just been annoying to carry around my wired mouse and dealing with the cord hassles, so I decided to give a wireless mouse a try.  A lot of people at work use this Logitech VX Nano.  You should know I am not a big fan of wireless peripherals, in fact for the longest time I refused to even look at them.  Well, that is all over now.  This mouse it awesome, it's super sensitive, and uses a laser for tracking, vs that optical crap ( I say that now because I did not know any better before this baby. ).  Let me just say, this mouse works on any surface, no more searching for a magazine to use my wired mouse because the table screws up the light path.  This thing just works!

Now, it does require 2 AAA batteries, so if it lasts as long as they say (6 months), I will be a very happy camper indeed.  *stoked x2*
