well so far this weekend was very intense. yesterday afternoon i hung out with jinna. i havent seen her in so long so it was fun seeing her again and all that. we went to crossgates cuz she had to get a present for a friend. so i met a few of her friends, they're pretty cool haha. she wouldnt' let me drive on the highway cuz of course, her driving skills are far beyond anything i could ever do. yeah we almost got killed. just kidding jinna. when we got to my house she let me drive aroundt he block in her civic. it was chill. then after dinner i went to daves house and we had some BP. then after chris left we hugn out outside and that was fun
so today i got up at 9, practiced the violin then went to drivers ed. then i went to daves house right after that and me and dave raked leaves for an hour or so. we were blasting some 'highway to hell' and 'flick of the switch', so that made the work a lot more enjoyable. i'm really startin to dig FOTS, i've come to appreciate that album a lot more. good riffs and vocals and solos and SONGWRITING. okay. so then chris came over, and we had some bp. that went nice. we wrote this new RHCP-inspired song which is pretty intense; just gotta smooth it out a bit.
so heres where the fun starts..
so me mrs lombardo and melissa had an idea of making a lil suprise party for dave with just a few of his friends for him before he goes to spain. so me and mrs lombardo decided today would be a good day to do it. so i decided that it should be me, melissa rob and cassie. cassie was comign with us anyway, so it'd be cool is she was in "the party" and all that jazz. so after a shitload of phone calls and talking to robs "representative" while he was workign, we got everybody over without dave guessing who would show up. rob came later than me, melissa and cassie; dave assumed that after band practice which ended at 4:30 i'd just meet him at the play..but instead i picked up melissa and cassie and we were at daves by 5:30 or so. it was intense. than an hour later mrs lombardo picked up rob who just got home from work and took him back to daves place. dave was really suprised to see rob cuz we all thought he fell of the face of the earth cuz we never hang out anymore. so we were hanging out outside for a lil n stuff..then we decided to jam. so we havent played together in a good five months, and for some reason just playing together with rob again felt really good. it was just so natural really, its hard to explain. its like, you have one certain shoe that fits just right, and every other shoe you try might seem good or might try to somehow emulate the weird style of that one special shoe. but no matter how hard any other shoe tries, its that one shoe that nailes it every time. aka, rob playing Break the rock, and just rob playing with us in general. as mrs lombardo put it "thats the platinum aero i wanna hear." so dont get me wrong, i'm pleased with how things are going as of now, but i'm not going to lie and say i want to keep our current setup the way it is permanently. of course there are some things we need to work on considering chris is relatively new ect ect but i know especially after today that the way our 'platinum aero reunion jam' as dave called it, is the way platinum aero should sound IMO.
so yeah, me dave and mark were really happy to play with rob again and all. then we had some food and then went to FOOTLOOSE!!! let me just say, that was on hell of a show. i really dug rex's awesome rock n roll voice. rex, wherever you are, even if you dont read this, you're my idol. haha cool. so we saw matrose there, as you would have it. interpret it as you like, but be farwarned, i'm NOT obsessed :-P. but yeah back to footloose fantastic show really, i was genuinly impressed with the whole production, and the band was fantastic, too bad they werent within view. so thats that i suppose.
tomorow i have to watch the kid and then i'm hanging out with Melissa whoo yah 8-)
