"Yes, I ate your pink cookie...but I will not be your valentine!"

What is going ooon?? I am typing this around 1 AM, with the hope that tomorrow I will be free to sleep till noon, thanks to the snow. Whether that comes to pass or not is an entirely extraneous issue.

What have I been up to? Class, mostly. Reading, alot of that. A little bit of writing, not as much as I'd like. I penned this earlier:

Now watch as day melts softly into night:
The fading light bids earth farewell. Those fiends
Of hell, of unrequited love, of pride,
Emerge and roam the land as wanton beasts,
Tearing apart the Lord Dionysus.
If only we could ride the wild sprites
And tame them, take control with careful touch;
Beneath us, they gallop throughout the night,
Speeding past landscapes painted o'er by pale
Moonlight. Affects are seen aright, and peace
Does reign: why can I not see this? Despair
Demonic seizes me; beyond my reach,
There dance the haunting images above:
Have I mistaken wounded pride for love?

Hmm...quite a bit more somber than I am actually feeling, so hence a little misleading. But an interesting verse nonetheless! (Meh, it's not really so good...the sonnet form does not give me as much creative reign as blank verse)

Speaking of poetry--I have recently become enamored by Shelley's "Queen Mab," a gorgeous poem that starts with a great praise of the fairy queen and ends in a supreme affirmation of the Great Spirit.

Speaking of affirmation--I have begun reading Nietzsche again, which is bad news for my sanity. ^_^ I haven't really read much by him since the summertime, so I am eager to delve back into his thoughts.

Nietzsche quote of the night:
"In revenge and love woman is more barbaric than man."

Second Nietzsche quote of the night:
"There's something fine about the fact that God learned Greek when he wanted to become a writer--and that he did not learn it better."
