Updates from Alaska.
First of all we have a house to move into. Not the one that we wanted but it is nice have that taken care of. Also we have dates for when our car and household goods will get in. SO by this time next month we should have a working household. Happy day
The big event today was that the people here tried to send me to Fort Wainwright. Note sure how it happened but they picked me with three other people and set us up with a plane ticket for 3:00 pm that day. Oh it would only be fore me, leaving Christine and Nathan at Fort Richardson.
When I tried to tell the people there that I re-enlisted for Fort Richardson while I was in Iraq, she really did not seems to have too much interest in it. The other people with me just had generic orders for Fort Richardson, but I had orders to go to the Clinic. I even had a sponsor. But they were really quick about getting me my ticket and leave to make the journey there.
Then a NCO that was near by starting telling me that just because you asked for a location does not mean that you will get it, re-enlistment or not. Also he was being a real ass about it. Not to mention that he was enjoying the fact that I would have to make this sudden change. Not to mention that he was going out of way to point out any flaws he could find. Me and this other guy were divided over if he was a Fobbit or National Guard.
So my sponsor calls me from the clinic and I tell him everything. So in a few minutes after I finished talking to him the same lady that told me that I was going north (and that nothing could be done) told me that I was staying.
So glad that got fixed.
