First off, I've had the past three days off due to Regents. As I'm merely a per-diem sub (who is in every school day, filling a full time TA schedule, attending all meetings etc) I was told not to come in so my school would not have to pay my minuscule salary for three days.
So, I decided to use these days to get my resume out.
And I hate online applications.
One school district's programmer apparently failed at if/and clauses in the programming of the "references" section. There are six sets of reference slots, complete with fields that need to be filled (name, phone number, address etc). The website says "fill in at least three". Entered, done. But the overall application will not go through.
Why? Well, the other three optional reference fields still have fields that "need to be filled in".
Brilliant! Now this school shall get what it will hate most, a resume sent via conventional mail.
Next week grad-school commences as I return to the Second World War. Again.
