ECW : One Night Stand
This was , by far , the best PPV I've seen in a long ass time , and I will be purchasing the DVD. So much greatness...Lemme begin with the results.
1>Lance Storm (w/ Dawn Marie , Jason , and Justing Credible ) took on "Lionheart" Chris Jericho. Great Opening match. Real technical , NO FUCKUPS. It was perfect. The match ended after Justin Credible hit jericho with a kendo stick , and Storm got the rollup pin , and the win.
They did a small tribute to ECW guys that have passed away , since ECW has been gone. Including "Flyboy" Rocco Rock , "Big" Dick Dudley , and Chris Candido.
2>Super Crazy vs Tajiri (w/Sinister Minister & Mikey Whipwreck) vs Little Guido Maritato (w/Full Blooded Italians). Good match , kinda short , but still a good match. Super Crazy did a moonsault off the top of the balcony at one point , which is classic ECW. Little Guido got pinned by Crazy , and eliminated. Tajiri got pinned , not to long afterwards after a major moonsault. Super Crazy wins.
3>Rey Mysterio JR took on Psicosis. Not their best outing together , but still a lucha libre type match. Rey just isn't as fast as he usd to be , back in 1995/96. Rey won after hitting a 619 (which everyone boo'd) and a west coast pop.
The whole fuckin show , RVD came out for a killer spot and a great promo. He was injured so he couldn't wrestle , but still had the fans on their feet. Till Rhyno came into the ring and attacked Van Dam. LIghts go out all of a sudden....SABU is in the ring when they cut back on.
4>Crazy match , hella awesome. Sabu wins after an arabian facebuster (a toprope legdrop with a chair under your leg) through a table! RVD hit a Van Daminator on Rhyno , and hels celebrate Sabu's victory.
Al Snow , Danny Doring , Roadkill , Gary Wolfe , CW ANderson , CHris Chetti , and Elektra are all shown.
5>Chris Benoit made Eddie Gurrero tap out. No Hardcore spots , this was a str8 wrestling match.
6> Mike Awesome vs Masato Tanaka may have had the match of the night. Awesome almost killed Tanaka a few times , including a powerbomb off the ring apron , through a table , where it seemed Tanaka almost snapped his neck. Plenty of crazy moves , and Awesome gets the win after hittin an awesome bomb on tanaka , off the top rope , through an already broken table.
Paul Heyman , makes his way to the ring with tears in his eyes , as the place starts a chant of "thank you paul". Great stuff , and you can tell that he was gunna speak from the heart , and not the script. He too thanked the fans , and then tore WWE a new asshole. He talked shit to Bishoff (they hate each other) , brought up the matt hardy thing with edge , that had the fans chanting "we want matt" , and then tore into JBL even worse , when he said "The only reason you were a chap for 10 months is because HHH didn't want to work tuesdays. lol. Truth hurts. Show continues.
7> Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman take on The Dudley Boys. Crazy match with a hell of alot of interference , by The BWO , Spike Dudley , Axl Rotten & Balls Mahoney , Justin Credible & Lance Storm , and even Buelah (Dreamers wife) & Francine got involved in that match. The finish to the ACTUAL match came after the dudleys put Dreamer through a table on fire. Dudleys win.
After the match , Sandmans in the ring asking for a beer , and who better to give you a frosty beer in the ring than Stone cold. Austin shows up and invites all the ECW guys to get their ass in the ring , which they do. All of em. And then Austin says they will all get beer , after they beat the shit outta the WWE guys at the show. So they invite all the WWE guys to the ring , b4 Austin "slaps the piss" out of them. The WWE guys enter the ring , and it looks to be a showdown , of at least 30 guys. but b4 the brawl ensues , TAZ hits the ring! Complete with old ECW music , and a tore black towel over his head. I was marking out pretty bad there. The ECW guys KILLED the WWE guys , and even Bishoff got 3d's , Benoit diving headbutt , and a stone cold stunner. Show end with Austin and Sandman drinking beer and posing for the crowd.
I'm buying the dvd. =)
