I don't know about all of you, but I've been fighting a lot of battles lately. And I'm sorry to say that I have not won them all. And every one I loose or even get a little scratch in the battle, the devil gloats and holds it over my head. He is so tricky and cruel in the way he works. First, he prowls around like a lion, looking for our weaknesses, finding the places where he can attack us and tempt us. And when he finds where we are most vulnerable he launches a full blown attack. If we are not careful, we can fall so easily when he strikes. But the devil doesn't stop there. Oh no! He then gloats over his victory and tells how weak and insignificant we are because he won. And when we continue to stay down, he continues to gloat. He tells us how powerful he is and that we can never defeat him. But I have some good news for you (and it's even better news than being able to save money on your car insurance)
The Devil is very VERY wrong! Yeah, sure we have weaknesses. So what? In our weakness God is made strong. The devil may be powerful and strong, but we serve a big God. The devil is inferior to him by a LONG SHOT, and he knows it. But he doesn't want to let us know that. He wants us to think he is more powerful. He wants to gloat in his victories. But I for one am not going to let him gloat. I will tell him not to gloat over me and that though I have fallen I will rise and the Lord will be my light. (Micah 7:8)
I will also remember the victories I have had over him. I will not let him downsize them or deceive me about them. I will remember how powerful my God is. When we do this, the devil gets angry. No one likes to loose. But oh what a joy it is to know that through Christ, I can have victory over Satan. I declare that today is a day to win victories over satan and tick him off. I declare that every chance we get is time to win victories over him. And when he does manage to scratch me, I will not let him gloat about it, but instead ask God for the strength to keep going and the way to defeat him. Who will join me? Will you let Satan gloat over you or will you stand back up and face him?
