Jack sees something he did'nt expect...

There was a hole in the bulkhead that separated Jack’s cabin from Stephen’s. He had first become aware of it one night when he had woken to the sounds of gasping, whispers and the creak of the bolts as a hammock swung against the roll of the ship. He got up, pattered barefooted across the floor and bent down to look through the fist sized gap. Jack could see nothing. The sounds of wet smacking and the shifting of sheets and guttural gasps and stifled exclamations assailed his ears. He pressed his cheek to the floor and saw the hammock, heavy and bulging, he clearly heard the words “Ah, God Stephen!” and other whispered passionate expressions directed to the doctor. He bit his lip, and was about to get up and forget the entire thing when he heard a loud moan and Stephen say “Shush, Tom, or you’ll wake the entire ship.”
Jack blanched and then blushed. Tom Pullings… his lieutenant -a man whom he trusted with his very life- was at this very moment making love to his closest and dearest friend. Jack had never suspected…never known…He stayed there, and watched as two pairs of bare feet came into view and the clothes that had been strewn across the floor were gathered up. And suddenly with a thud the two half dressed bodies were on the floor, completely visible to him.
“Tom!” in a scolding whisper “you have to get dressed and up on deck, it’s nearly- mmmmph.” He was stopped by a kiss that made Jack bite his lip to keep from gasping aloud.
“I know very well what time it is, Stephen,” he said softly, kissing him again, “and there’s plenty of time to finish you off.”
“Ah, God Tom, no.” he said only half convincingly as the other’s hand wrapped about his cock, and then he was lost in a string of stifled moans and whispered nothings. Jack looked away.

Jack pretended not to notice the stain on Tom’s shirt when he came below to report that the wind had shifted two points to the north. Jack pretended not to notice the particular gleam in Stephen’s eye when Tom looked in his direction. He moved his sea chest that afternoon and pretended that he had never seen the hole in the bulkhead.
