So.... the festival I was really looking forward to attending in October was cancelled today. Apparently the co-headliner pulled out - this would be the same headliner of whose existence we didn't know about until last week - really made a difference to ticket sales, I tell you.

I want to give the person who did that to Wikipedia a high five.

Looking at AJ's Twitter this morning, it seems like the initial announcement was hedging and there are still going to be shows in five cities. So maybe, if everything turns out right, I'll still get at least a little bit of bandomwave with you guys.

This is still the biggest fuckup I could imagine and I'll be very wary of SW 2012.

Well, i'm going back to the "if it happens, it happens" school of thought.

This does make my sept/oct slightly more manageable now though.

Yeah, and he's keeping the dates as close as possible to the originals, so that helps. I won't be able to go to anything earlier than September 30, but it means it shouldn't stuff my Canberra trip around too much.

I just want to see a bandom band this year. I would settle for just one! Is that so much to ask?

Yep. All of that. If I was in one of the bands on the line up, I would be pissed at being called part of an inferior product. It wasn't even obvious that there wasn't a 2nd and 3rd headliner to be announced - as far as everyone was concerned the line up was complete...

Also, it occurred to me that this festival was 6 weeks away. I gotta imagine that this couldn't be convenient for the bands involved.

Oh well, that was just me whining on the internet - I have a whole bunch of oz bands i'm seeing in the next couple of months.
