I just read the most amazing thing. And now? I'm going to pass it to you. Why? Because I want to get thoughts on this.

[EDIT]The article that brought this up is here![/EDIT]

True, but we don't know Sirius very well pre-Azkaban, either. Even though we know his post-Azkaban and he's still all "I'm a prankster!" he could still have been different. I mean, I know sometimes I'll hear an off-hand comment, run with that idea, and then totally forget that it wasn't my idea until told. *shrug* Plus I didn't mean that Peter would go and be all "*sits next to Sirius* I think Snape should see Remus in the full moon." I meant it like Sirius could have been trying to think of a new prank and Peter, there helping him, could have been, "Haha, that one was great, Sirius! *buddy buddy* I wonder what he'd do if he saw Remus on a moon..." or something. Besides that, they were all against Snape in the first place (you can't deny that).

You have to also think that they didn't say that to Sirius (the never speak to us again thing) when he did it. If Sirius can be forgiven at the time, why can't Peter? I know, I know, "we all love Sirius!" ... but Peter wasn't known to be "evil" at that point. There's no reason for them to say "don't talk to us again" when they didn't say it to Sirius.

hm, true.

because peter was a hanger-on. it's not that he was evil, just that he wasn't exactly "like a brother" to anyone in the group. maybe i'm just cruel, but i know i ostracise some people more than others in my little group because they're not friends, they're hangers-on. they're there and i tolerate them, but if it came down to it and i could tell them off, i probably would.

If it did happen, I can see them pushing him away a little, but I doubt they'd do it completely. He did already know about Remus' condition and whatnot. With Remus as worried as he was about it, I can see them making sure he's close enough that they can watch him and make sure he doesn't tell anyone out of spite.

*shrugs* i think this is going to be a case of completely different interpretations no matter what. we'll just have to wait and see what the last book says. :)

Most likely. *nods* Do you think the last book will fully cover everything?

she said all our questions will be answered. how true or false that is i couldn't say, but 7-whatever pages doesn't seem like enough to cover every fan's questions, and quite frankly i don't know if i want her to. that's sort of what she did in the sixth book with the pairings (catering to everyone's whims), and that turned out to be a cluster-fuck.

Oh, exactly. I'd be disappointed if she covered everything. The sixth book was ... ug. I don't even want to get into that. But I still don't see how she can cover all the whorecruxes and the final battle and the major questions (Snape, Draco, who the spy is -because she did mention there was another-, etc) and a bunch of other stuff.

not without skimming over a lot and writing a very shitty book.

Which is what scares me about this one... I had a little faith after the fifth one, but the sixth just made me go "this is bullshit, where's the good stuff?"

the chest monster is what had me going, "what the fuck?" but other than that i didn't have much of a problem. granted, i was just desperate for another book and finished it in twelve hours, and i haven't re-read it, so my opinion may not be terribly important.

to be quite honest, i don't really care about the series as much now that sirius isn't directly involved. i'm curious about what happens to snape and lupin, of course, but other than that, meh.

Sirius is supposed to be coming back, isn't he? But I totally agree. The chest monster was horrible (could she have chosen a worse metaphor?) and the "death" of Sirius was a totally "what the FUCK?!" which made me hate JKR. And stuff.

I have't re-read it since I first bought it, too.
