Eeeew ...
Dude. I just, like, coughed up a piece of my lung today.
Seriously.
I mean, I'm used to hacking up these tiny little hard things, the size of a strawberry seed. It's so gross, cause I can feel it coming up my throat and I just start to gag and try and swallow it back down. Sometimes I just drink some water and I'm good, and sometimes I spit it out.
But this was different. This was literally a chunk of my lung tissue! It was about half an inch in diameter and looked kinda like a grayish-brownish-pink piece of cauliflower. I think it was one of my alveoli. You know, those things that actually perform the gas exchange?
My first thought while I poked at it? "Gee, I wish I had a microscope so I could check this thing out!"
I'm such a freak, I know.
