Bottled Messages

A message in a bottle
You'd think would be clear.
A piece of paper, translucent shape
Guarding it from the ocean's leer

From one place to another it rides
On the gentle undulations, low to high tide,
But somehow, my message wasn't clear,
Bringing back my greatest fear

Message in a bottle,
Scribbled down a sentiment,
Message with a lot of,
My hopes and dreams; a subtle smile,
and things I have trouble saying

Message in a bottle,
This heart broke so easily,
Message with a lot of
Love-laden tears

A sigh to the sea-salt escaped,
On an empty beach, not a soul around,
To shed one more tear is good and safe,
But never again will this bottle leave this ground.
