It's the summer of 2014, and I should be working on homework. IT Enterprise Management and Operations Management.
Cory has been my running life-coach, and I had to run today with the dogs. Kaleb was a total weenie and wimped out about half-way through. So a lot of the "run" was encouraging him to move faster. 3.2 miles in about 45 minutes. Piss-poor pace, but I'm still working on bringing the lungs up to snuff.
Yesterday we went to Sebago Lake with Keenan and Kim, and I get really worried about how boring I am. I have nothing to say, ever. I'm hoping when I'm out of school, I'll be able to relate to people more. Either by watching more TV or reading more books. How sad is that - I need TV to relate to people. But the things that are important to me simply are not important to others: dancing, school, landlord-ary. Although Landlording is interesting. Maybe I should look at ways to make that (and house repairs) a larger part of my repertoire. Same with exercise - it's only interesting to a few people. And I have don't anything worth talking about.
I have an Inflatable 5K in September which I have very high hopes for. As much as I hate running, this should be the most fun way to do it!
Mike and I are excellent. We usually are when we are both busy. He finally took my prodding and got a new phone (just like mine) and he seems to love it. He'll never admit that I was right at all that time, knowing he'd be happy with a phone that he can be more effective with, but I'll just have to take what I can get.
We are dancing more. We just got done with a Charleston class that kinda sucked, but we are back to using YouTube to practice every now and then. I need to get us back to practicing and learning Salsa, as that is more usable in public.
My colleague Amber just bought a house. Very cute, but of course, not in a style Mike and I would choose for ourselves. Very jealous of their adorable back yard and the great garden they will have. Mike/Amber and Mike/me do not have a lot in common, but they are wicked-nice. Again, Mike and I are just boring.
Finally, Mike and I recently went to a landlord "happy hour" at Hot Suppa. We met a contractor and we met a bunch of real-estate agents. Well, we use Brit as our real-estate agent and Ralph as our bank-guy, so that wasn't helpful. But the advice was great. I'm going to see if Mike will get his real-estate license while I'm working on my MBA. It will help him if his UNE job gets more unstable, and it will help us save when we buy/sell places. Less commissions to go out, hopefully. Either way, the knowledge is just about invaluable.
So it's almost like stuff is going on, but not really. Still in a long holding pattern.
