When It Rains

It’s raining the day Sirius is taken to Azkaban. Remus arrives to see the rubble of the street remaining, the destruction of life. Tears streamed down Remus’ face and danced together with the rain on his cheeks.
It’s raining the night Remus reads Sirius has escaped from Azkaban. His eyes fly over the words and his heart skips a beat. Rain splatters the windows and inside the house Remus cries out in joy.
It’s raining the morning Remus sees Padfoot running across the Hogwarts lawn. He blinks several times and leans closer to the glass, opening the window to stick his head out. Rain drenches his face as he attempts to convince himself he’s seeing things.
It’s raining the moment Sirius falls through the veil. Remus feels his heart shatter and his knees give. He can’t see the drops of water splattering the ministry building but the tears falling to his feet begin a puddle comparable to the rains misery.
