Concerning Stability

Sometimes I wonder if I'm too tough on reviews of iPhone games when they crash to the home screen. I mean, the native iPhone apps that ship with the unit crash all the time, too. The iTunes music store in particular has a crash ratio far worse than even the jankiest game I've played. Sure, it's unacceptable for a game to crash on a real console; despite what all the bloggers would have you believe, the iPhone/iPod/iPad is not a real gaming device. You can play games on it, but I played games on my graphing calculator, too (with fewer crashes). Maybe these guys are doing the best they can with what they're given.

I guess it's a critic's job not to care about the developers doing their best, though. No hard feelings, guys.

Bonus: dumbest-ass thing I've read on the Internet for today, form an advocate for changing operating systems: "I've found I can accomplish over 80% of my daily computing tasks on a non-Windows machine."

Personally, I've found I can accomplish 100% of my daily computing tasks on a Windows machine. That's why I use a Windows machine.
