Well today I discovered something that's worse then snow. Yup. Today I walked a mile from work in hail. For those of you, who have not experienced the wonder of getting hit in the face with chunks of ice, let me try to explain it in terms you may understand. Imagine a million Pop Rocks...now imagine them exploding on your face. Got that image? Good.
And yes I'm well aware there are places where the hail gets so big that it invades small towns, terrorizing small dogs and children. Where it rolls menacingly through cities until Godzilla comes to fight it. Whatever. I don't live there. Those people can get their own damn journals can't they?
On a completely separate note I saw LoTR...or Fellowship of the Ring or whatever. Yeah the first one and yes, you can shut up. So I'm behind. I think I would've enjoyed it more if I had waited til I was finished with the book. All in all I like Tolkien though I can't see me liking him any more then any of the other billion fantasy authors I've read. I understand that for people who started their fantasy interest with Tolkien he would hold a special place but for me it's not new. *waves away the legions of Tolkien fans brandishing torches and pitchforks* Yes, yes I'm well aware Tolkien was a pioneer in the fantasy novel world and many authors owe him one. I mean it's not new to me. Now does this mean I won't become a obsessed fan...of course not. Being an obsessed fan is what I do.
