Being the month of November it's generally considered the time of year to be thankful for all we have. We all spiel out stuff about being thankful for our families, friends, the bountiful feast...the fact we're not turkeys. The usual stuff.
Really though we should be grateful for everything we have. I think people could be a lot less miserable if we didn't focus so much on what we don't have and more on what we do. When's the last time you were grateful for the food you eat? Not just big elaborate dinners but everything? Grateful for your home, your clothes, everything you have?
It's not a guilt thing, like oh hey look other people are worse off. Comparison is the problem really. It's not about others. It's about ourselves. We should be grateful.
Do that sometimes. Take a day or make it a regular practice to stop and be grateful. Notice what you have, and not just the big things, the little stuff as well. If we could all do this I think we'd all be happier and more content.
