Of all his family members, Amorisa definitely had the best chance of getting on well with Karina. Adrian wouldn't have expected, however, that the two of them would get on as well as all of this. Then again, Karina's motivations for everything she did tended to be mysterious. His sister found amusement in the oddest things and always seemed to be playing some sort of angle, though what the goal was no one but her was likely to be sure. Whatever the cause, Adrian was pleased to see that one of only two people in his family he cared for seemed to approve of his pet.
Karina was smiling, having settled gracefully into a chair, tea cup held in her hands as though it were a far more delicate and valuable piece of ceramic than it was. "Christmas gifts for the whole family?" she repeated curiously. "My, we are eager to please. I'm sure I'll love my gift, doll." She sipped from her cup carefully. "And never mind the customers. If they really want something they'll find me," she insisted. "How have the two of you been? Sounds like it's been a busy day. And an anniversary coming up?" At this she gave Adrian a knowing look which he refused to acknowledge. "Good for you," she said quietly over the steam from her tea.
