Soul Eater Chapter 64 Review: I want my FUCKING BADASS WINGS!!!

Okay guys, I know I didn't make a review for the last chapter. I was planning on typing up my review right now in class, but instead, I'm skipping last month's chapter and type out my initial thoughts of this month's chapter.

Yosh! The chapter is about Maka and Soul, but mainly Maka and her angel-like Soul. Both of them are training to properly use his abilities as a Death Scythe and the first thing is learning how to fly with flying experts Kim and Jackie.

In the previous chapter, Maka wanted fluffy wings and started complaining to Soul how the wings he gave her weren't fluffy and angel like at all. However, in this chapter, Soul caved and gave Maka the fluffy wings of doom. By the look on Maka's face, she was pleased by the outcome of the wings, where as to Soul had a melancholic face on. After that, he had a flashback with Spirit.

Spirit informs them about Maka's soul being hunted down because of her soul perception abilities. Maka and Soul are aware of that since their encounter with the new Medusa. Soul wonders if it's okay now since he is a Death Scythe, but he isn't too sure, because of Maka's over the top exaggeration of Maka's abilites and her state of being.

Maka is taking this 'I'm an angel' too seriously, always thinking of herself as this nice, beautiful angel that everybody can rely on. Also, making her partner into Death Scythe is pushing her to think highly of herself, thinking that she can defeat anybody at any time. Of course, Soul has noticed how Maka is acting after his transformation, but also the others noticed too, how Maka thinks too highly of herself.

Since class is almost over, I am going to make it brief from here on out. Okay, then Gopher shows up and beats the crap out of them in the sky. Maka notices the fluffy wings she wanted isn't fast enough to keep up with the enemy, so she bites her lip and tells Soul to give her the proper wings. And with that, Maka smacks back into reality and gets the Angel Wings of Doom that she and Soul deserves.

I didn't like this chapter that much since it's Maka-being-a-spoiled brat chapter, but it was good considering that Soul and Gopher knock some sense into her. Another thing I didn't like this chapter was that there was barely any action. It ended with Maka getting her badass wings, however, Maka getting kicked around by Gopher was pretty funny and I enjoy the Maka beat down very much.

Anyways, class is over and I have to get to my next class. Hopefully, the next chapter I can make a better and sooner review.
