Dead Like Her

First day at my temp job, and I feel like George from Dead Like Me. Except, you know, for the whole being dead thing. It's totally a typical "office job." Meaningless paper-work, printing, filing, organizing... Blah.

I don't think their expectations for the project to which they've assigned me are quite realistic. Basically, I have to make three copies of this report that is going to consume something like 3 4-inch binders per copy. I spent today printing about 5 reams of paper, and I'm maybe 2/3 of the way done with one copy. They want the three copies by Tuesday. At this rate, I will have 2 of them done. They will have to be happy with that, because that printer just won't go any faster.

On the bright side, everyone there is really nice, and the two ladies I work with are both easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean. A group of four of the people who work there, including one of the ladies with whom I work, Maria, were going to lunch and invited me. They were going to Amura, which I absolutely love but totally could not afford right now. Unfortunately, Maria is cute so I said yes. I spent $10 on a bento, and only ate half of it. I shall have the other half for lunch tomorrow, so I guess it didn't end up being too expensive. But I really couldn't afford even $5 for lunch two days in a row. Suck. And I find out at lunch that Maria is married. C'est la vie, I guess.
