It glows with an evil red light
I got my car! It shall forthwith be called the Grand Prixie. It's a crazy sweet ride, though bigger than I'd have normally liked. Still, I pretty much love it.
The dash glows an evil red, and the car is possibly more intelligent than I am. The radio turns itself up as I accelerate, the lights turn themselves on when it's dark, I can start it from inside my house, it tells me the date and when I need to change the oil, and I've managed to get a 99.9 Inst. MPG rating for a brief time (while coasting, of course).
Now all I have to do is get a job, in order to afford the ~350/mo car payment. On that note, I managed to send out my resume to at least one place today: Gothic Software, in Gainesville. They're looking for a VB programmer, and they're a smaller company, so I don't know if they'll pay well enough to let me turn down any jobs in Orlando. I also spoke with my connection in the stock execution business, and they are interviewing more potentials over the next week or two; it may be that I'll hear something from them one way or the other soonish. I also tried calling Beer to see if he ever passed my resume along to EA but, as usual, he didn't answer or return my call.
Now that I'm no longer stranded, I should really head back to Orlando. But there are so many birthdays here in Gainesville, and a lot of really great people. I'm torn. But, if nothing else, I need to get back to pay some bills and get my interview clothes. I'll probably head back this weekend some time.
