Personal ramblings on Kpop/sexuality. Not a fic, just me putting my thoughts on (metaphorical) paper.
This ByunTae thing is bothering me. I love the couple name. I love that Baekhyun gets a chance to suck face with the girl of his middle school dreams. Still, all of EXO has been over worked and they all look like hell outside of their make-caked public apperances. I just think the members need to focus on trying to rest and get healthy despite SM running them into the ground. Baekhyun having a girlfriend, famous or not, takes away from the time he should be putting into EXO and now his musical. It doesn't seem super fair to the other members or fans. EXO is still rather new and their fanbase is already crazy. The fervency of some of these fans does scare me. However, having a girlfriend may be the best way for Baekhyun to relax and have an outlet. Taeyeon herself is busy, and this effects her even more than Baekhyun with the cultural expectations for women.
The issue with them directing their public instagram photos to each other does seem mocking to me, and definitely immature. I've never felt Baekhyun was a super sincere person, but this makes me not believe his actions and words more. It also cheapens his fanservice and skinship, both of which are very important to fans.
Those who are crushed about this being the end of "Baekyeol" and other ships are kidding themselves. These are really people, and even though I enjoy placing them in sexual situations I know these things aren't real. Though most the the skinship is manufactured, there is no way it all is. The rate of homosexuality among the general population is 10%. For those in the arts the rate rises to 1 in 3. This means at worst one of these boys is fucking other guys. At best is could be as high as half. It's also been shown that males, humans and animals, when separated from females, satisfy their sexual urges with other males. So there is that. Not that any of this is going to stop my imagination...
