Void background

I finished the mermaid story, added a few pages to the swordplaying soft cy story, and started cooking up a sequel to the first one. One of the main characters had the aproval of two ladies, so i extrapolate -a whole lot of extrapolation- and decided this was a popular guy. Trouble is, i haven´t got the conflict yet, AND, the scientific grounds are shaky at best. They don´t meet even my quack-hard standards. So i researched, and boy, am i ignorant of the very fundamentals of continuum mechanics and electromagnetic phenomena. I have the MHD -magnetohydrodynamics- sucking bomb all set, BUT, this is a deep space story and there´s not actual sucking in void, and gases have zero conductivity. I suspected that. There´s a shortcut, though: partially ionized gases, wich are conductive to some extent. Of course, in order to be sucked in efficiently, the cloud of gas in space must be condensed to some extent, and then heated for increased viscosity. Am really not that knowledgeble on gases properties, don´t know how they behave or exist on the space void, how they react to cumulation by inertia while mecahnically draged, how magnetic fields affect them. In short, don´t know jackshit.
