DP 133 - How Ash got his groove back.
AFTERMATH of the Ash vs Paul battle. Ash proves once again, he's way too stubborn to stay depressed longer than 24 hours. Shoot, I don't even think it was a FULL DAY.
That aside, there were so many amazingly zany expressions this episode. POKEMON: NEVER TAKE SERIOUS BUSINESS SERIOUSLY.
All of Ash's Pokemon are recovering and heavily injured :'( (Anime logic: Bandages HEAL EVERYTHING)
haahahaha I frikkin love Gliscor. SCARY LOOKING SCORPION BAT being a cry-baby in reality, d'aaw.
Ash is beating himself up for losing so bad/letting down his Pokemon and goes off to brood/reflect on the battle. Heck yeah, he goes to lay out in a SUNSHINEY FIELD OF GRASS. The boy can't even angst properly. Also, is it me or did Brock get shorter.
Meanwhile, Dawn is worried about Ash :'( Piplup decides to cheer her up.
At first she's like "...wat" but then figures, hey, we can do this to help cheer up Ash, too :D! She's so cute haha.

YAY BROCK GETS SCREENTIME. Happiny is socute. He flirts before Croagunk threatens to jab him in the nuts, and nurse Joy sends him out to get a special berry for Monferno, who apparently is injured the most or something, idk.
AND HE SEES UXIE'S SHADOW :OO The Pokemon of Knowledge! Fitting! Dawn got to see the Pokemon of Emotion, Ash got Willpower, and now this. IS IT PLOT RELEVANT? Possibly but who can ever tell. Anyway he brings the berry back for Monferno. WILL HE MAKE IT?

Meanwhile, Ash is still depressed/reflecting/whathaveyou. Pikachu and co find him (Nurse Joy why did you let injured Pokemon wander out?) and cheer for him!
. . .before promptly collapsing because of their injuries. ASH LAUGHS and gets up.
Aaaand I think says something like there's no sense in being depressed now or something along those lines of shounen-pep talk and generally acts as a leading trainer. PROMPTING THE CUTEST PILE SCENE EVER.
s-socute. People get on Ash's case for having blind faith in his Pokemon, but with his team, it goes both ways. THEY ALL BELIEVE IN EACH OTHER SO HARD and will follow Ash where ever he goes ;^; gggghaha SKIPPING AHEAD
Nurse Joy explains Who's That Pokemon of the lake and there's other talk (I like how Ash is on the computer. He's come a long way from trying to karate chop PCs). At this point, I'm guessing something about his battle is mentioned, because he makes a dark face before breaking into an obviously fake laugh. He kinda sucks at hiding stuff. Dawn immediately catches it and gets Ash to watch her show.
I. I can't really even describe it HAVE PICS.
AND THEN TEAM ROCKET SHOWS UP AND THINGS GET STRANGER.
Whenever they tell a joke or something they magically pull out a bandset to do the badumching thing. Ash and co's expression's speaks for everyone.
AND THEN meowth fires a bazooka that net-grabs Pikachu outta Ash's lap. Cuz that makes sense.
Then. . .everyone just stares as they do the motto it's so amazing LOOK AT MAMOSWINE.
CHASE SCENE ENSUES and once they recover Pikachu, Team Rocket argue with themselves hilariously.
. . .but they forgot Ash and his Pokemon were standing right there. AND HE'S FEELING SO MUCH BETTER 8)
GO GO UNNECESSARILY DETAILED SHADING. Ash then makes a whole lot of dramatic gestures that would do Kamina proud, and celebrates his good mood by HAVING ALL SIX POKEMON BLAST THE HELL OUT OF TEAM ROCKET.
Oh, Pokemon morals.
THEY CELEBRATE and all is right in the world and the anime reminds us that Dawn is a co-star by mentioning where her next contest iS. Shifting back into Contest Plot \o/
IN SHORT: Ash likely did learn something from his battle with Paul, but he isn't going to give up on his way of thinking just because he lost one battle. HE'S ASH FREAKING KETCHUM and come hell or high water, he's gonna frolic with his Pokemon and kickass doing it. HAPPILY. o/ The end.
