I had work at the speedway yesterday. On the way there I decided to pick up lunch in Mill Bay. Subway came to mind and so got me a sandwich. As I was getting my drink, my sunglasses fell out of my pocket and as I turned around I stepped on them. Sunglasses fear me for I am a great bringer of death and destruction. I only had them for maybe 3 days. Which is better than the one RoVent I've attended where I realized I forgot a pair at home and decided to get a set of new ones on the ferry. Only to destroy them about 8 hours later. While I was having a nap no less.
Showed up at work. The boss asked me is I wanted to be driver or attendant this shift. After a short instructional session in the parking lot I was ready to fly to the rescue. So 45 minutes later guess what I got to do.
While they were doing practice laps and one of the cars went in behind the baracades and landed itself on a rock. About 5 minutes later a call came over the radio for us. Lights Sirens and somewhat higher speeds. (we're not allowed to exceed 60kph). We show up at the site of a driver sitting on a concrete baracade casually holding his ankle. The boss jumps out and starts in on him. I went around to fetch the jump kit. The assessment revealed, unimpaired circ, motor and sensory. "Does it hurt?" The relpy. "Not really." That's right. We responded code 3 to what escentially was a prank call. I'm ammused and bothered by it. Otherwise nothing happend. It was fairly uneventful. This saturday though I am appearantly guarenteed a serious call. The strawberry cup. 100 lap stock car race. Something will happen. Let's hope it's nothing too big. Though a does of adreniline would be fun.
