Sometimes I get a little worried about our education. We get very adept at writing essays to criteria. There are formulas, most of us realise, and it's all just jumping through the hoops. From then on, we learn how to bullshit things, how to tell people exactly what they want to hear rather than communicate our actual opinions.
My faith in our schooling is pretty limited. I'm not doubting the material - I have learned important things - but sometimes I think that all the things I have learned about life etc come from everything I do outside school, or that is extracurricular.
Unfortunately, uni (for example, scholarship applications) just encourages you to keep doing it - turning yourself into something presentable... of course as you go along you pick things up and it starts to matter that you do things other than obey criteria.
Sadly, I am rather good at jumping through hoops. The rest? I have my doubts.
...also, (w00t) I just beat my minesweeper highscore!! ...I live a pathetic life.
EDIT: Twice!! 2 minutes 25.
EDIT 2: And again! 2:20. Today is a crazy day for minesweeper.
