Mission "Triumverate" AAR

Aug 24, 2006 20:48

At roughly 1750 on 24 August 2006, allied forces struck two non-allied battle forces roughly 20 miles north of Ft. Lewis in Lakewood, Washington.

The purpose of the operation was to destroy the fighting capacity of the enemy company sized elements in order to secure local area against insurgant forces.

Enemy force one was composed of an assault level battlemech, a Liao made Yu Huang with two supporting tanks and roughly 4 squad sized elements. Enemy was attempting to defend it's local territory and research facilities. However, as this was one of the first actuall sorties for force one all participating units found themselves lacking in adequate training.

Enemy force two was composed of stolen allied units and equipment consisting of one Marauder II assault level battlemech, two heavy tanks and 3 squad sized elements of infantry. Since force two was pirate in origin it did not posess sufficient strategic or tactical skills for the battle. It is believed that an informant was responsible for the composition of the force to best serve the lacking skills of the pirates. force two's goal was to sieze and secure any technology and resources from force one's territory and research facilities.

This mission was tasked to c/52 IN AT Company who created task group from one DI Schmidt and 3rd Platoon Huaberk Battle armors who had set themselves into position the previous night waiting for the mission and to obtain the element of surprise. 3rd Platoon was reinforced by one heavy class Vulture IV.

The battle commenced at 1803 that day where force one and force two immediately clashed outside the range of 3rd platoon's weapons. 3rd platoon gained a support by fire position while the Vulture battlemech harrased enemy lines. The Vulture was damaged in the course of these skirmishes but remained mission effective.

By 1958 that day the battle was over, no enemy units remained in the area. No casualties were taken. After the battle it is clear that we have perhaps seen the last for the pirate group which composed force two. Force one is now more than willing to participate in a full blown war with our Allied forces and is likely that this group will grow in power in threat in the coming weeks, however, intelligence indicates that force one is moving to another part of the sector to participate in a military campaign that the force has already sworn its allegiance too.

Improves:
1. Battleforces should consist of more numbers to engage more targets
2. Should the Vulture have been salvaged the mission capability would have been severely decreased
3. Engage targets more quickly

Sustains:
1. Support by fire to keep enemy at bay
2. Excellent use of PPC Capacitor
3. Battlemech manuevering and speed were very adequate for mission at hand

End Report
Battle Commander,
Colonel Pearce (I wish!)
