The boys and I had a great time at the Renaissance Fair. We finally got to be a part of the Tortuga Twins show. For those of you who are out of state, The Twins are 3 guys who do a 50 minute show from a 20 minute script. Lots of ad-libs and picking on audience members. It's not really what they say it's how they say it. Anyway we attended their last show of the day - the "R" rated show - which is more of a PG-13 show. Before the show started my beloved children said they hoped I would get picked to go up on stage. But I mad sure we sat toward the middle front and away from the aisle. So the show starts and the actors make a big deal about it being the R show and then asked if any children are in the audience. L raised his hand excitedly and the guy comes down the aisle saying "Wow, you're old enough to understand most of our jokes."
He turned to me, "Are you his father?" I nod. "Have you seen our shows before" I nod. "You know this is our R rated show?" I nod again. He puts his hand out saying, "Yeah, High Five! You are the world's worst father!"
"Now if you have any questions about what we do here, don't ask your dad. Save your questions for your teacher and principal, then they will have questions for your dad.
Throughout the show this guy pauses and comes down the aisle to "explain" things to my son. "Now young man, Lesbian is just another word for Grandma." and after flipping off someone, "This is just a way to say 'I love you.'" "So when you see Grandma do this and say 'Lesbian.'"
Well, L was laughing so hard he nearly fell off the bench. Then at the end of the day we're walking to the car and someone drives slowly by and says "Remember what to call your grandma."
