This is a well thought out argument. But I disagree. They call my position of abolishing the separate system as symbolic, costly and detrimental to students. Perhaps, if done all at once and in the short term. But I think we are better off building one good system than funding many smaller ones that partition our kids by religious, ethnic and/or social classes.
