She was walking through a dark alley, away from the entertainment district and back to her current hidey-hole, when suddenly, she heard steps behind her.
She turned around and saw a man following her. When he realized that he has been spotted, he stopped at a respectable distance.
“Forgive my intrusion miss, but I saw you in the bar” he said in a gentle and polite voice, totally uncharacteristic for the location and time. “The way you handled the asari”
“Yeah, what of it?” she said while preparing to charge her biotics.
“Let’s just say that I work for an organization that could use someone with your mindset and your abilities…” he said.
“You can help your species in more ways than scaring asari invaders in bars” he offered her.
She looked him over up and down.
“Fuck you… leave me alone, whatever you are” she eventually growled through her alcoholic haze.
She turned around to be on her way when suddenly she felt a sting in her neck. When her hand went there, she found a small metal dart sticking out of her neck.
She tried to summon her biotics but she suddenly felt so tired that she couldn’t. She saw the man slowly coming towards her as she fell to the ground and lost her consciousness.

The man came to her prone form as another man - the dart shooter, came out of the shadows.
“Any IDs?” he asked while the first crouched over her and searched her pockets, looking for an identification card which he soon find.
“Got it… the ID is really old, but still valid. The name’s Adriana Shepard” he said.
“Is she on any of our lists?”
“Nope, don’t think so” the second said as he searched the name on his omni-tool - a rare sight on Earth. Humans were generally not allowed to own an omni-tool, unless receiving an explicit permission from the asari authorities, and even so, the device would be stripped down of all offensive functions.
“Very well, let’s get her into the car and to the base” he said.
They took the unconscious woman and carried her away.
