Humanity Is Insane

An idea that came to me a while ago when I read a pamphlet that said that in a recent survey 1 in 3 people have mental health issues, not including those that are undiagnosed or some other reason for not saying.
1 in 3 sounds like a lot but what if that is what makes humans so special? Perhaps compared to aliens humans are, as a whole, mentally unstable.
This could easily be played for laughs or drama.
How the other aliens react to the newcomers? In the work place? In general?
Maybe in comparison a lot more human plans work on ‘Crazy Enough to Work’ and ‘Refuge in Audacity’.
Perhaps humans are the only ones where insanity is a legitimate legal defence and thus the only ones that have institutions for the criminally insane. How would aliens, particularly those in C-Sec, react? Especially to someone that has ‘split-personality’, which perhaps could only be found in humans.
One idea that I’ve had is that maybe the reason the alien crew members of the Normandy fit in so well is because by the standards of their own races they would be considered to be a somewhat mentally unsound.
This idea could go in lots of different ways. I don’t want the humans turned into lunatics and I’m mostly interested in the point of view of the aliens, such as the regular citizens, even for something as relatively simple as OCD.

Thanks for reading this prompt and I hope someone takes this up and maybe in the future I will myself.

I think this might be one of my favourite prompts of all time, as someone who has close family with mental health issues I so hope this gets, tastefully, filled.

Fourth, this anon thought up that humans just have way more mental illnesses then aliens do like Drell going off into their own little worlds could have something that keeps them trapped in said world just looping over and over yet the humans beat out even them with their more strange or unusual ones maybe even odd habits could be used like maybe some humans constantly eat medi-gel with no real reason why other then it taste good yet you're not suppose to eat it like you aren't suppose to eat drywall.
