Sparatus-FemShepGarrus- Sparatus is over protective father anonymous August 25 2013, 01:00:34 UTC
I noticed that someone reposted my prompt in part 18 hoping someone would fill it.

I was quite happy that someone like my prompt enough to repost it, but I was sad to see it hasn't been filled yet.

After reading the suggestion thread I saw it was ok to repost unfilled prompts as long as a month has passed between reposts, so I thought it would be ok to repost my prompt since more than a month has passed.

"So it has always been head canon for me that Hannah Shepard had something going on with Sparatus way before Hannah met FShep's father and had Jane.

Here's my prompt-

It would have to be AU with no reapers.

So what I'm looking for is Hannah and Jane (about 4-6 yrs old,) are on a ship when slavers/Batarians/pirates attack the ship. Hannah puts Jane in an escape pod, and Hannah ends up dying.

Jane's escape pod reaches the Citadel, and C-Sec officials don't know what to do with an orphaned Jane.

Sparatus all of a sudden receives a phone call to report to C-Sec.

Once he reaches C-Sec,he is in for a big surprise. It turns out, that Hannah, in the event of her death, appointed Sparatus as Jane's guardian (due to Hannah not having any other relatives and Jane's father being dead). Plus Hannah still has alot of trust/faith in Sparatus, and knows he will do a good job of raising and protecting her daughter.

So all of a sudden Sparatus is now the guardian of a young human child and doesn't know what to do.

He, is of course surprised and quite saddened to hear of Hannah's death. He still loves her of course.

So in order to honor Hannah's last request, Sparatus legally adopts Jane.

I would love to see some cute/tender father/daughter moments between Sparatus and Jane, as well as moments where Turian and a young female human get used to being around the other.

I would also like it if young Jane just thinks Turians are the coolest, and has complete adoration/awe for Sparatus.

In addition to the father/daughter relationship between Sparatus and Jane, I would like to see a friendship begin with a young Garrus as well.

I'm sure that Sparatus will receive lots of criticism for adopting a human child from other Turians.

However I think that perhaps other Turians, such as Garrus's father and maybe Victus would lend their support to Sparatus, and in doing so I'm sure they would introduce their sons Tarquin and Garrus to Jane, so that they can be friends.

So I would also like to see friendship Between a young Jane, and Garrus.

Eventually I would like to see Jane and Garrus get together. But of course Sparatus, doesn't view anybody as good enough for his daughter, so I would like to see an overprotective Sparatus and Sparatus having the "father talk" with Garrus.

Default FShep please

Bonus-
- Sparatus and FShep have funny/awkward conversation of the "birds and the bees".
- not only does Sparatus try to scare away Turians suitors away from his daughter, but he has to scare away human males and even Asari.
-in order to help Jane feel more at home, he decides to get her a pet. He orders her a puppy, from an online pet store however they get the order wrong, and send him a baby Varren instead. He would have sent baby Varren back, but Jane immediately loves the Varren and name him Urz.

Sorry for the long prompt, just wanted to make sure I explained it right."

I'm still holding on to the hope that someone will fill my prompt.

My Daughter Jane 1/? anonymous August 26 2013, 05:27:38 UTC
Right so I'm going way, way out of my comfort zone since I'm more of a Quarian person. Hopefully this doesn't suck to bad. There will be eventual FShep/Garrus, but its going to be a while.
----
“Mommy what’s going on?” Jane asked as her mother scooped her up in her arms and ran out of their cabin.

“Shh… don’t worry Janey” Hannah replied as her daughter formed a death grip around her neck, “You remember a couple days ago the captain had us practice getting to the escape pods?”

“Yea…”

“Well it’s just like last time,” for a moment Hannah was extremely happy that Jane was only a child, because anyone else would have seen through her lie in an instant. “I’m going to put you in your seat, then I have to go help the captain ok?”

“Just bring Sir Pounce A lot back with you,” Jane asked as her mother sat her down in the escape pod that was primed and just waiting for the launch command. “I left him on the bed.”

“I will baby,” Hannah replied as the com unit in her ear started going haywire with reports that Batarian Pirates had boarded the ship. “You I know I love right Janey?” She asked suddenly, “More than anything in this galaxy I love you.”

Jane may have only been six, but she could tell from her mother’s emotions that something was wrong, and the sudden change in her voice filled her with fear for some unknown reason. “I love you to mommy.”

Hannah smiled as she knelt down to kiss her daughter on the forehead, “I hope you can forgive me for…” her voice was cut off a deafening roar and Jane’s screams of pure terror. She could tell that she’d been shot, the amount of blood pouring from her chest confirmed it, but she had no idea who had done so.

“Finish the cow off,” Hannah heard the gruff voice behind her and realized the Batarians had been moving faster than she thought, “and grab the girl, she’ll get a good price one we get back.”

Enraged at just the thought of Jane being enslaved Hannah shrugged off the pain and produced the pistol she’d been allowed to keep since she was a member of the ship’s security detail. “I’ll gut you before you touch a hair on her head!” she bellowed while spinning in a 180.

The ensuing gunfight was short lived as Hannah’s rounds impacted the Batarians chest, and the Batarians rounds hit her square in the abdomen. With her guts being held in by just the thinnest strip of skin, Hannah managed to stumble over to the control console of the escape pod and activated the launch protocol.

As her vision blurred she managed to select the first pre-programmed destination before her legs gave out and she crashed to the ground. “MOMMY!” Jane fought against the restraints of her seat to no avail.

“Janey,” Hannah said weakly as she made eye contact with her daughter, “Don’t worry baby,” her vision began to fade, “It’ll be o…” her voice trailed off as everything went dark.

“Mommy please…” Jane pleaded when she realized her mother wasn’t looking at her, “I’ll be good I promise,” she couldn’t hold back the tears as she begged her mother, “I’ll clean my room… I’ll eat my dinner... please don't go...” she whimpered while trying to think of what she could say that would cause her mother to wake up. It finally became too much and she began to cry uncontrollably as she watched her mother’s chest rise and fall for the final time.

I really hope Aria!Mod doesn't delete this, because I really would love to read more of your writing, and I would love to see where you plan to take this story.

Like the other A!A stated, multifills are welcome on the kink meme, and I would enjoy reading yours and other A!A's writings on my prompt.

But I don't want to make you feel as if you have to write something you if do not wish to continue this, so the choice is yours.

Thank you once again for taking the time to write for my prompt. It really did make my day to see two fills for my prompt.

I, personally, do hope you continue this fill.

Thank you once again A!A. :)

A!A, I can't even being to tell you how happy I was to check the kink meme and see that two amazing A!As have started to fill my prompt.

Having multifills for my one long prompt is like an early birthday present for me (My birthday is next week).

I can't even being to say how I grateful I am to you, and the other A!A for taking the time to write fills for my prompt.

I first posted this prompt in April, and then another anon posted it in the last thread, and yet it hadn't been filled yet.

And I didn't lose hope at all that some kind A!As would decide to fill my prompt.

Thank you A!A very much for an amazing start to what I know will

A!A, you have no idea how much it means to me to see this prompt being filled by two awesome A!As.

A!A, you really know how to bring out the emotions in me.

When I got the end of this first part (I'm not ashamed to admit)I had tears in my eyes.

The way you write Hannah and Jane really bring out the feels.

I should have known when I was prompting this prompt, that it would have a heartbreaking beginning.

I really enjoy the way you write Hannah. She is an amazing combination of a fierce soldier and a loving mother.

There was no way she would allow her daughter to be in the hands of Batarian slavers.

"Enraged at just the thought of Jane being enslaved Hannah shrugged off the pain and produced the pistol she’d been allowed to keep since she was a member of the ship’s security detail. “I’ll gut you before you touch a hair on her head!” she bellowed while spinning in a 180."

And Jane's promises to her mother to get her to wake up really did have me in tears. Her words tugged at my heart strings.

A!A, this is a really great start. Believe me when I tell you that it did not suck.

I want to thank you for writing this, and I appreciate you writing out of your comfort zone.

I do hope you continue this.

Prologue to "To Ourselves..."? anonymous September 1 2013, 07:50:27 UTC
I know you will be planning a story out of your own. So, keep on going and don't let me discourage you.

But I also read this in connection to "To Ourselves and Our Posterity", the next thread, and I can easily imagine this is as a prologue to that story.

I'm going to enjoy both stories. So, keep on going.

To Ourselves and Our Posterity 1a/? anonymous August 26 2013, 05:32:08 UTC
Upon realizing that the very important message he had received regarding ‘certain members of his posterity’ involved speaking to the head of the Citadel Adoption Agency, Sparatus’ feelings on the matter evolved from a sick churning in his gizzard (and the insatiable urge to chomp on the nearest deposit of soil to get rid of it) to a cacophonous beating of his heart as though it would pop out of his throat and start beating him to death. And that was before he had even made it to the office in question.

The elevator, as usual for most Citadel elevators, was rather slow in getting to its destination. The only elevator he knew of that wasn’t slow was the one that went from the presidium to the Citadel Tower, though he had heard tell of a system in place that was trying to make the elevators go faster. That led to a lot of bickering, hemming and hawing about the keepers and their role in keeping the Citadel up and running and it was for this reason that Sparatus hated his job with the passion of a raving shatha.

By the time the elevator had stopped and the doors opened, Sparatus had officially cursed the names of everyone in the entire building and sending a hateful prayer to the spirit of this accursed Adoption Agency for daring to claim that this situation had anything to do with him. Nevertheless, he held himself straight and walked directly to the center of the building, where a glass door stood between him and the asari head of the agency herself.

The doors opened with a small hum and he walked straight to the asari. The nametag on the desk dubbed her as Administrator Amidai T’Donya, and she stood up in his presence. A cool air hung between them like freshly-fallen snow (and seeing as Sparatus had only ever encountered snow once in his life under unfavorable circumstances, this did not bode well for either of them).

“Administrator T’Donya.” Sparatus said coolly.

“Councilor Sparatus. I would like to take the opportunity to say that I appreciate your arrival on such short notice.” T’Donya responded. Sparatus shifted his shoulder back a fraction.

“The message I received was listed as high priority and as a private message regarding a family member of mine. I sincerely hope that this is not some sort of cruel joke, T’Donya, or I will not take kindly to any pleas made by the Citadel Adoption Agency as a result of this encounter.”

“This is no joke, Councilor. Though even I have a hard time understanding how this happened…” T’Donya tilted her head down, and Sparatus felt as though he was either going to throw up on the spot or eat her chair in order to get that sick feeling to go away already.

“Councilor, I assume you have been briefed on a recent pirate attack on a Citadel Civilian Ship near the Terminus Systems?” T’Donya continued.

“Of course,” The feeling got worse and worse oh spirits don’t puke, “The ship was to take retired Alliance Soldiers to the human colony of Mindoir. As the turian councilor it is my duty to ensure the safety of civilian ships travelling through Citadel Space, and this attack was an insulting occurrence on behalf of the turian defense force. Your point being.”

T’Donya looked down towards her desk, at a particular stack of datapads a little off to the side. Of course Sparatus knew about that ship. It was indeed his job to know about that ship. If he could just cling to that thought, keep his mind from wandering into the undeniable fact that he was trying to ignore was connected to this meeting, then maybe he could keep himself from spilling his guts onto the carpets and ruining his image and losing his council position and being forced to deal with the fact that--

“My point is, Councilor… there were exactly 100 escape shuttles on that ship, each large enough to hold ten persons of average human height.” She swiped one of the datapads off of the pile, and held it out to Sparatus. He stared at it.

Reply

To Ourselves and Our Posterity 1b/? anonymous August 26 2013, 05:33:26 UTC
“Of those 100 escape shuttles, only 37 successfully made it away from the wreckage. Those 37 shuttles each housed the maximum of 10 persons, with some housing up to three small children, all ages 4 to six.” He grabbed the datapad. So many names on this list. Casualties, all of them. If he swiped his finger the right way he would be taken to a list of final wills and testaments, a written record of human creation that designated possessions to certain people they assumed would still be alive. He swiped again, and it returned to the list of casualties. He scrolled down to the names that began with the human letter ‘S’.

“The Human Systems Alliance successfully recovered the wills and testaments of all casualties that could be recovered, or that existed in the first place.” Don’t puke don’t puke. “I believe you are familiar with former Alliance captain Hannah Shep…”

“Yes, Administrator, I am in fact familiar with Systems Alliance captain Hannah Shepard. As I recall she was killed by batarians while ejecting an escape pod holding three other humans. Now miss T’Donya I would advise you to get to the point quickly before I leave the premises on the assumption that you are only telling me things of which I am already aware of, as I am a very busy man and I have duties to tend to.” If he held onto the datapad any tighter he would have shattered it by now and all of his instincts told him that his stomach was trying to digest itself don’t puke dammit.

“Hannah Shepard left something to you, Councilor Sparatus.” T’Donya stated hoarsely. Sparatus held on even tighter to the datapad. How it hadn’t broken by now he had no idea.

“What did she leave behind.” Sparatus whispered.

“A young human child.” T’Donya said, her voice cracking. “In the event that Hannah was killed and her husband was unavailable, she left her only daughter, Jane Shepard, in the care of turian Councilor Datharn Sparatus.”

Sparatus stared so fiercely at the datapad’s text, reading word for word the last will and testament of Captain Hannah Shepard. Perhaps the only human in the entire galaxy he had ever had a positive encounter with. And she had been stupid enough to leave a human child under his care in the event of both her death and the death of her husband.

“And this… Jane… where is she?” Sparatus choked out, half expecting his panicking heart to jump out of his larynx.

“She is currently under the care of the Citadel Adoption Agency.” T’Donya responded. “According to human law, you are entitled to disavow the will of the late Hannah Shepard and leave Jane under the care of the Citadel Adoption Agency, or accept the will and adopt Jane to your household under human law.”

Sparatus set down the datapad. He stood up, with abhorrent posture to boot, and looked T’Donya straight in the eye. It took him a moment to find his voice again, and after swallowing his heart back down his throat about four times, he finally blurted out;

“Where do I sign?”
