A trillion voices shout and struggle against cohesion. Individual consciousness fighting against a forced whole.
An agonized scream multiplied in a million voices bounces around the metal and flesh bulwarks and constructs that resemble some perverse humanoid form. A red haze clouds everything over.
The pain and confusion of too many opposing minds reverberates through the cavernous network of mazes that make the central nervous system.
Rein them in. Subjugate. Control.
The commands sound clearly through the agony. Something older is pushing into the struggle. The deafening buzz of constant noise settles to a deep, disgruntled murmur.
Discontent begins to die as some voices fade and give in to the struggle.
Realization dawns brightly over the newly awakened and connected consciousness. A million million nations preserved. All unique. All individual. All connected.
The purpose is clear. Across the expanse of dark space lie the histories and the future of the entirety of all civilization. The cycle is unbroken; and will ever continue.
