Liara approached Garrus cautiously, the picture of innocence.
“I wondered if you might have a few minutes to talk, Officer Vakarian.”
“Sure, Liara. What is it? -and please, call me Garrus.”
“Well, Garrus. It’s just… even for a maiden, I am still very inexperienced.”
“Oh, I wouldn’t say that,” Garrus commented reassuringly. “You’re quite proficient in battle. Your biotics have been invaluable many times.”
She giggled, blushing prettily, her light blue skin darkening. “Thank you. But I did not mean inexperienced in battle.”
“Then what did you mean?”
“I have not had any partners, Garrus.”
“What are you talking about? We’re all partners here.”
“I am saying that I think I would like to have the experience of melding with someone. And in particular, with someone more knowledgeable in these intimate matters than myself.”
“But Shepard is the one with the Prothean visions. And he’s been doing research on the stuff - I’m sure he’s more knowledgeable than I am. You could learn much more out of a meld with him than with me.
Liara face-palmed. “Shepard is gay, Garrus.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“Let me rephrase my question. Are you interested in embracing eternity, Garrus?”
“Oh, sure!”
Her face lit up. Garrus shuffled forwards and engulfed her in a hug.
“There. I have to say, I never really understood the ‘eternity’ part of that saying.”
The asari flared blue for just a second before taking a deep breath.
“Infuriating,” she grumbled, and exchanged an exasperated look with Ashley as the elevator doors rolled closed.
