He had barely walked in through the door when he was bowled over by the mini red-headed terror of the Citadel. "Unca Gawwus! Unca Gawwus!"
Garrus looked around the small apartment. Save for the sizzling coming from the kitchen, all was empty. "Shepard!" he called out.
Jane's disembodied voice came floating out from the kitchen along with the scent of baked chicken. "In here! Kaidan'll be back in a sec and dinner will be ready!"
Garrus turned back to the young girl. "Where's your brother?" he inquired.
The young girl puffed out her chest as far as it would go. "He's in jail. I awwested him 'cause I'm a Seesec!"
Garrus saluted the young girl. "Then why did you arrest him, Officer Ashley?"
Her bottom lip pouted out. "He took my ship."
"He took your ship? That's serious. What happened?"
Ashley climbed up on the sofa in the front room and began her story. "Me and Lili was playing ship and Gary wanted to and then mom said he had to go in the time-out corner cause he started hitting Lili."
"Oh, really?" said Garrus, trying to give the incident all the gravitas a five-year-old needed it to have. He hemmed a bit before asking "Did I ever tell you about the time your Mom took a ship?"
Ashley's eyes grew wide. "Really?" she asked and settled back to hear her favorite uncle tell one of his many stories.
