Given how drastically my Sara improved when I shifted the gawky teen #8 gave me to the actual adult starting from #1 resulted in, I say yes?

Here is a non-Asian Ryder I saw on my Tumblr feed who's not Asian.

But given how great the new Asian faces are (which is a first for Bioware) I'm not surprised you've been seeing a lot of them.

She's an adept at the moment because I love biotics, though I do enjoy the tech powers (been playing an engineer in MP) so I think I'll probably make her second go-to profile a tech-based one. Don't quite have enough points to have a full loadout there yet.

I wonder if the problem with the default face is that she's someone's face scan and not part of the mesh built into the game?

I need some tips on customizing because DAMN, I'm not at all thrilled at how my Ryder turned out.

Also - am I the only one slightly disappointed at the lack of customization? Why can't I change eyebrows to whichever one I want? Why can't I change my body size?

The most important thing is to figure out which preset is closest to what you want and go from there. That's really standard character creator advice, I guess, but it's more important here because the presets are baselines and not just a shortcut.

Yeah, I did that, and still ended up disappointed. Is there a full-on custom option, where we can choose eyebrow. nose, etc? I didn't see one at all.

I also seem to have run into a glitch/bug that at least one other person has also run into: my skin color choice was dramatically changed once the game started. It's really "fake tan-ish" - not so much that I can't stand it, but I definitely don't like it.

No eyebrows/nose shape, etc. Supposedly they're "looking into" making it more robust, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

They should work on the Asari faces as well, apart from PeeBee they all look like Dr Lexi.

As I understand it (take this with a grain of salt, could be wrong,) the non-default presets are still scans of actual heads, which is why the presets are bases to work from instead of something you could recreate even if you started with random settings.

You've never been able to change your body size in Bioware's original ips (Mass Effect and Dragon Age), it's probably because they don't want to have to animate romance scenes for different body sizes (they couldnt be bothered to have different romance animations for male and female ryder with PeeBee and Vetra), they weren't going to make Iron Bull a romance for dwarves because of the size differences until an animator worked over time on the animations
