Stage 3: Sculpting
Progress has been made. I cut the arms and added magnetic joints. They're a little loose due to the strength (or lack thereof) of the magnets, but it does the job. The added bonus is that I can take them off and keep them out of the way while working on the torso. Yes, I have a little Venus de Shepard. I also shaved the bust down a little bit, though not much in the end. Taking some off of the sides gave me the silhouette that I wanted.
The key now is patience- I can only do a bit of work before I have to put it down and wait for the green stuff to cure. If I try to do more, I inevitably put my thumb in a soft spot and have to fix it. Still, it gives me a chance to sand it smooth as I go, getting rid of errant fingerprints and imperfections.
Next: More sculpting.
