Has anyone tried tanking with a volus? I'm posting this under Vanguard since I've been spending some quality time with Wombat the Bowling Ball lately, but this could apply to any volus.

Since I discovered that Shield Boost grants a second or so of invulnerability to the caster, I've been trying to use it pre-emptively. It's great fun standing my ground against Brute charges, blocking missiles with my face, or rolling my big spherical self out into the open to draw fire while my teammates flank. Things get unstuck rather quickly though if there are too many enemies, or if I get sync-killed... *ahem*

I too find this an interesting variant, but I spec her a bit differently and take another weapon class. My build for her (up to gold, never tried her on platinum): 0/6/6/6/6 ( ... )

Exploding Blades doesn't end the DoT-Effect, so there is no loss there. The main reason I use this evolution is that I often shoot them into groups of enemies, so the relatively quick distribution of a bit of AoE is worth it... for me at least. But I can see reasons for taking Enhanced Blades instead. And I never choose Exploding Blades for the Batarian Soldier, with him I too take Damage&Bleed.

I can understand that, though... isn't then the whole DoT-effect useless to you too? *not entierely serious*
But sometimes I just like that I can change focus to another enemy and/or part of the map and just let the explosion take the last few points of the enemy.

please excuse any mistakes in my postings I'm no native speaker

I think it's mostly a personal feeling and not the 'naked' numbers for me, but I'll give it another try. Maybe now (with more familiarity with the Cabal) the Enhanced Blades will win me over.

Ahhh *slightly blushes* thanks for the compliment. :)

She has the steepest difficulty curve for me, of all classes, I think X[ I used to think it was impossible to play her, but I just saw someone absolutely OWN with her on Gold a few days ago. It was a very grenade-focused build though, so it's either good grenade gear (which takes forever to unlock) or running constantly to ammo boxes (which I personally dislike doing, but YMMV!).

I finally unlocked the Kroguard (I thought it'd never happen!! Then I got two cards in a row! >_<;). What's your favorite weapon on him? I already have the Hurricane challenge (which would be my first choice otherwise) so I'd prefer to do another weapon challenge, but nothing is very satisfying so far. I know people say he's a good weapons platform for all sorts of weapons, but that doesn't really help me narrow it down, lol! I like to charge all over the place, but I'm open to longer cooldowns too (they made him feel a bit too slow though).

He is awesome with shotguns!

He's practically invincible with the Reegar, but the Wraith, Piranha, Scimitar, AT-12 Raider are also good. Claymore is a bit too heavy for a charge-reliant build.

In terms of other weapons - Lancer, Talon, etc. It depends on your playstyle really. Short range weapons are best if you're spending your time up close and personal with the enemies. If you're using Carnage for some long range action, maybe a medium range weapon would be better.

Since kroguard is so not manuverable, I tend to use the biotic charge as my back up "oh crap!" button. That being said, I found the disciple a pretty decent shotgun and it has a very low weight if you want the shorter cooldown.
