Personally, I've been very disappointed in the art, and the stories are mediocre at best. But that's just my opinion; I know some people find them more engaging.
FWIW, my partner and I read through the tie-ins together and had to stop every page or so to laugh and facepalm at the terrible writing and characters (bonding through snarkiness: relationship gold) so it's not just you.
I'm working through the comics now - and I have to admit that reading them does feel like work to me, but gratuitous T&A and ridiculous outfits really irritate me, so I need to put in a fair amount of effort to look past the art. It'd be easier to do so if there was more to see in the writing, but I'm finding the plots rather lacklustre so far. They do provide semi-enlightening background to the games, though, so I'm persevering just for that.

My second reaction was, "Thank you, Mass Effect Comics. You make me feel so much better about my own artistic skills."

I have the Invasion mini!copy that came with my CE, but I have to confess I've not even opened it.
