I haven't had this much fun with Vanguard since the demo! I dusted off my Vanguard class by using the Cerberus Vanguard all weekend. I found a tatic that worked similar to Human Vanguard's Charge + Nova. Cerberus can simulate the Nova attack with Charge+Heavy Meele, as it does AOE damage that helps clear the area without sacrificing shields (but still leaves you open.)
I specced my Smash ability so it creates an electrical charge to help debuff shielded targets, as well as detonate tech bursts. The wonderful thing I found about this power is that you can Smash through walls! So got a tough baddie you don't want to be too close to but still in range to hit? Get on the other side of a wall, don't take cover, and use Smash in their general direction. This is especially helpful if you have someone using either Quarian Male's tatical scan or Volus Engineer's Tatical Mine helping you see enemies through walls!
Lash I used much less, considering it's actually kinda dangerous to lash an Abomination towards you (especially a Posessed one).
I equipped a lightweight weapon (my Phalanx, specifically) for fastest recharges since I'm power-based mostly. Added the pistol meele stunner to give my heavy meeles a bit more oomph.
