I think the concern was that initially reports had only supporting cast members doing voice work, and since the EC DLC isn't playable (and that Shepard may have died at the end) they might not have anything for Shepard to say.

The least they could add is (if Shep lived) a choice for the player to make on whether to go have that drink everyone was going to buy for him/her, or find his/her love interest and fade to black from there. ;)

Jennifer Hale has also been making noises about more voicework, and just yesterday Raphael Sbarge tweeted about meeting Kimberly Brooks at Technicolor (the place they go for recording sessions) for more ME DLC work.
